When Do I Have to RSVP By?

... RIGHT NOW would be great! Why not? You're already on the official Camp Zyan RSVP website!

When you get your invitation in the mail you will notice there is no RSVP card. That is because responses will only be collected through this site in an effort to save time, and trees!

>> Please RSVP by July 31st, 2018

We need to provide a final head count to our chefs two weeks before we get hitched. However, the sooner you RSVP, the better we can plan cabin assignments, order our favors, and the sooner Jenny gets to make up all the goodie bags for campers... which she is oddly excited about doing.

CLICK HERE TO RSVP NOW  - Payment isn't due until you arrive.

How Can I Pay?

If you are paying upon arrival, please note the camp can only accept cash or checks. If you wish to pay by credit card, you may prepay here

What if it Rains?

We do plan on having most of the activities outside, but there are plenty of indoor facilities available. We will move the wedding inside if it is pouring. Our reception will be inside the mess hall.

Can I Bring My Kids?

Yes. Unless you want to party all weekend without them. We won't judge you either way. Kids under 12 are half price, under 5 are free.

Can I Bring My Dog?

Our dogs will be there for you to snuggle all weekend! And yes, you may bring your pup(s) - unless you want to party all weekend without them. We do ask that you be an overly attentive dog parent. Don't forget to bring food, a portable water bowl and plenty of poop bags as we do not want our guests ruining their dancing shoes. Dogs are not permitted in the dining areas during meal times. There will be other dogs present, so if your dog does not get along with other dogs, you may want to leave them at home. If you have a well-behaved fur baby, they may run free but please keep in mind there are 823 not-fenced-in acres, so leashes are certainly recommended. Pomeranians are highly encouraged. We plan to have a "dog wrangler" on hand for the weekend who can keep an eye on the pups during meal times.

You Really Want Me to Sleep in a Tent?
Nope. There are plenty of cabins with for you to stay in!

>> Read more about the cabins here
>> See photos of the camp here.

But What if I WANT to Sleep in a Tent?
Sure. If you really want a full camping experience, you are welcome to bring your own tent. Hike off into the woods and sleep under the stars, or set up camp in the fields right by the cabins. No matter what you choose, w
e will still be assigning you a cabin space so you have bathroom/shower access. Also, if you get too lazy to pitch your tent, or it pours... you can change your mind and sleep inside.

Can I Bring My Camper / Trailer?

Yes, you may bring your camper. However, there is no driving on the camp other than the staff so you will have to keep it in a parking area (and sleep in it there). Please note there are no RV hook-ups. If you have a camper and want to stay in it, while still being on the campgrounds - we are totally cool with it.

Is There Enough Room For Me (& My Whole Family) to Stay?
Absolutely. There are over 200 beds, so even if every person we invited shows up, there is still a bed for everyone!

Can I Pay More and Stay in a Private Cabin?
Unfortunately, no. All the cabins are similar and are somewhat of a group environment. There are a few cabins with little "nooks" - so if you are uncomfortable in a room with a bunch of people, let us know and we'll do what we can to make you comfortable. We are doing our best to group you with your friends and spreading people out as much as possible. We think you'll have a great time! We have only invited incredible humans (and pups) to our wedding weekend!

Do I Have to Bring My Own Linens?

You should bring a bath towel. Linens will be provided: a top and bottom sheet, 2 blankets, a pillowcase and pillow. You may have to make your own bed - this is camp after all - but we won't be doing cabin inspections, so you don't have to make it in the morning.

Are You Guys Going to Make Me Eat Vegan Food?

Yes. You should always eat your veggies! However, there will be non-vegan food as well.

Do I Have to Poop in the Woods?
No way! Every single cabin has a bathroom! There are also bathrooms throughout the rest of the camp in the different buildings.

But... I Can't Stay at Camp Because I Have Poop Shame
Number one, EVERYONE goes number two! A lot of the cabins have fans in the bathroom. There are plenty of private bathrooms (with doors) around camp that you can slink away to poop in. Also, we will be providing air freshener by every single toilet bowl. No one is going to think less of you because you poo, so don't let it stop you from a fun time.

But How am I Going to Get Dolled Up for the Wedding?
Again, there are bathrooms in every cabin. There are sinks, showers, mirrors, and electrical outlets. Please bring a hair dryer or straightening iron if you'll need one.

If you are participating in the activities Saturday afternoon, but not staying at camp, there will be a cabin available for you to change in before the wedding (in case you don't feel like going back to your hotel).

Do I Need to Make a Reservation for a Cabin?
If you are staying in a cabin, your RSVP is your reservation. You do not need to contact the camp. Payment is not due until you arrive. Your cabin assignment will be given to you upon check-in. If you are staying elsewhere, your reservations and transportation are your responsibility. Also, there is an event happening just one town over the same weekend as our wedding, so hotels are filling up quickly. If your plan is to stay outside of camp, hurry up and make your reservations or you'll have no choice but to camp with us!

Will the Wedding Still be Formal?

We are getting married at a summer camp... Dressy casual is as dressed up as we expect you to be. No heels, please.

Why isn't Saturday Dinner Included in the Packages?

Dinner Saturday is the reception dinner. Your RSVP of Yes means you plan to be at the ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception dinner.

Will My Phone Work There? How About Wi-Fi?

There is cellphone service, and wi-fi, but the wi-fi is not the greatest. It may be fine for email, but we recommend downloading things ahead of time if you think you'll need them. We also recommend spending some time at the campfire instead of on the internet!

How Much Do I Have to Hike?

Only as much as you want. There are plenty of hiking trails for you to explore, but if you hate hiking, you are not required to. You will be on foot once you arrive and park your car, but it is not too strenuous. The lake is a little bit of a hill on the way back up to the main campground area, but you should have plenty of time to take it at your own pace. If it is helpful motivation to conquer any inclines, we plan on feeding you a lot of delicious food. If you need any help getting around, just let us know and we can get you from A to B!

Where Can I Park?

There are labeled parking areas within the camp.

Can I Leave Camp and Come Back Once I Get There?

Of course! You can access your car at any time. As long as you brought clothes and a toothbrush, you shouldn't need much once you get to the camp. If you do, the nearby town of Warrensburg has a Rite-Aid, Tops Supermarket, restaurants and gas stations.

Can I Perform Live Music Friday Night?

Yes, please! The talent show is open to all, including bands.

Is the Friday Night BBQ a Rehearsal Dinner?

No. Friday night BBQ is open to all, wedding party or not! If you're able to arrive Friday afternoon and spend the weekend with us, DO IT!

When Does Camp End?

Cabin check-out is 11am on Sunday. Bring your linens to the mess hall on your way to Send-off Brunch.

You Guys Are
Killing Me with
This Whole
"Camp" Thing

We know... this is not the traditional 6 hour banquet hall wedding thing you are used to... but you know us, and well, we aren't exactly traditional. What we are is beyond thankful for our friends and family being so supportive and adventurous!

We tried to answer most of your questions, but of course feel free to ask us anything :)

Directions to Camp
FOREST LAKE CAMP
261 Forest Lake Rd, Chestertown, NY

By Air

Albany Airport (ALB) is the closest airport. It is 1 hour & 10 minutes (62 miles) south of Forest Lake Camp.

If you know of other friends or family that are flying in, hit them up. Maybe you can share a ride from the airport!

Lyft is available in Albany, and the estimated fare from the airport to camp is $83. We are not sure it is possible to get a Lyft from camp back to the airport, but a lot of people will be passing Albany on their way home, so we can work it out!
